I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay? Thank you so much.

Also, don't forget to check out my YouTube page, Lurie Daniel Favor's Media, where you should subscribe, like, and share because then you'll get notified when I post videos from my show, which I do just about every single day and when I go live with my YouTube audience. Lots to get to today. And I'm ready to dive in because, you know, it's a day ending and why.

And so we are going to be cool, calm, collected, and focused on the mission at hand. So newcomers, you should just know that because we sit in Black Talklandia every single day, it's difficult work. It's not the easiest of things. I'm just telling you it's not, it's not the easiest of things. Because it's hard, right? Nobody wants to have uncomfortable conversations all the time. We had Glenn Singleton on earlier this week, who was the founder of courageous conversations. And that work, I've never worked with courageous conversations. But as many of you who have followed me for any length of time, know that that is the type of work that I have done for years. My husband and I,

1:28.5

there was one period where we, our entire corporate entity, we had a whole organization

1:33.3

dedicated to educating educators on how to use diversity in the classroom and incorporating the law

1:39.6

and incorporating the history. It was an amazing time. And now we're off to other things and we still

1:43.6

bring a lot of that with us.

1:44.8

But those conversations, having that discussion, like the work I just charged righteous to do,

1:50.0

hard, heavy work. Heavy work. The emotional labor that goes into having these sorts of excavations of

1:58.2

what's happening in society heavy on the spirit. And so you got to make sure that you have something that is going to allow you to intentionally

2:04.7

tap into a sense of joy, gratitude, and appreciation.

2:07.8

Because what we have learned and what science has confirmed for us is that when we are rooted

2:12.1

in joy, gratitude, and appreciation, we cannot also be trapped by fear, loneliness, and

2:16.9

depression.

2:19.1

So on this show, we have a ritual to help us get rooted in joy, gratitude and appreciation. And that ritual is called a moment of

2:24.6

gratitude, and it goes a little something like this. In just a minute. You're going to hear music.

2:30.6

The music is going to be an invitation to you to join the rest of us, because when we hear the music, we will collectively begin taking the slowest, the deepest, the most lung

2:37.9

capacity expanding, the most joyful heart invigorate, and troubled non-cleansing, weary, soul,

2:42.3

uplifting the most amazingly juicy breath. As we kick off our most important segment of every

2:48.3

single day, it is time for our moment of gratitude. Every day we got to do it.

3:21.2

Shout out to the team.
