I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay? Thank you so much.

Also, don't forget to check out my YouTube page, Lurie Daniel Favor's Media, where you should subscribe, like, and share, because then you'll get notified when I post videos from my show, which I do just about every single day and when I go live with my YouTube audience. And this ritual is a pretty significant one because... audience. We've got a lot to get to. And of course, before we get to any of it, we also have a ritual

on this show. And this ritual is a pretty significant one because it is a ritual that allows us to

1:00.6

intentionally curate some emotions that help us to not be trapped by fear. These are emotions

1:06.1

of joy, emotions of gratitude, emotions of appreciation. And these emotions are so important because as I just mentioned, when you're rooted in gratitude, joy, and appreciation, our lives have confirmed, and the science assures us.

1:19.6

The science confirms what our lives have shared with us that you cannot be trapped by fear, loneliness, and depression when you are rooted in gratitude, joy, and appreciation. So we have created a hack to help us jumpstart our emotional sense

1:33.2

1:39.0

a moment of gratitude, and it goes a little something like this. In just a minute, you're going to hear music. When you hear the music, it's going to be an invitation to you to join the rest of us, because when we hear it, we are going to collectively begin taking the slowest, the deepest, the most lung capacity expanding, joyful heart, invigorate, and troubled, mind, cleansing, and weary, soul, uplifted, the most amazingly juicy breath. As we kick off our most

important segment of every single day, it is every day we got to do it.

2:38.9

Every day it matters.

2:40.2

Shout out to the family here that allows us to do exactly that.

2:43.9

Shout out to all the Urban View family members.

2:45.9

Shout out to the Nubians.

2:46.9

It is a beautiful thing to celebrate this Friday with you

2:50.2

and to take a deep breath together with every single one of you.

2:53.7

And I want us to, on this Friday, as we're going to be talking in today's episode, a bit about fear and managing our fears and acknowledging that they exist and then doing what's necessary to triumph over them.

3:04.7

I want us to, again, be reminded of the power of our attitude, right? We are

3:09.3

concluding August where we began with a focus on the attitude. And considering we're, again,

3:15.1

as I mentioned, going to be talking about some fears today and the news is full of scary, scary stuff,

3:19.5

it's really important that we are reminded of the power of our mind to convert even the most negative
