I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay, thank you so much. Also, don't forget to check out my YouTube page, Lurie Daniel Favor's Media, where you should subscribe, like, and share because then you'll get notified when I post videos from my show, which I do just about every single day and when I go live with my YouTube audience. Right now, before we get into the news of the moment, we have a ritual on this show.

0:55.4

And it is a ritual that is pretty significant because here in Black Talk Landia, we do some

1:00.2

heavy work. As you can tell just from the conversation we've had already, we don't do light

1:04.9

and fluffy on this show. So newcomers, you should just know that every day here in Black Talk

1:09.6

Landia, we are sitting in the

1:10.9

heaviness of the moment that this world is calling us to, whether again it is dealing with

1:15.9

issues of race, gender, culture, identity, politics, and the law. And so that means that,

1:21.1

you know, the work can be pretty heavy. And we don't want the work to be heavy because when you're

1:25.4

dealing with heaviness on a constant basis,

1:32.9

it can weigh on your spirit. It can weigh on your soul. And so we have a ritual on this show called A Moment of Gratitude. It is pretty simple. So simple. In fact, it goes a little something

1:38.1

like this. In just a minute, you're going to hear some music. And when you hear that music, it is going to be an invitation to you to join the rest of us because we will collectively begin taking when we hear the music. The slowest, the deepest, the most lung capacity expanding, the most joyful heart and vigorating, troubled mind cleansing and weary soul uplifting, the most amazingly juicy breath that you've

2:02.3

ever taken with a couple million people at once as we kick off our most important segment of

2:06.8

every single day. It is time for our moment of gratitude. Thank you. I'm going to

2:21.3

I'm going to Every day, folks, every day we got to do it, and every day it matters.

2:43.3

Shout out to the team.

2:44.3

Shout out to the Urban View family, to the Nubians.

2:46.9

It is just always so good to be in communion with each other.

2:49.6

And this right now, this sacred brunch hour that we have together, I feel like is the most powerful time of my day

2:55.9

at some point, other than my own personal meditations and time with my family. I love this

2:59.9

moment that we get to share together, not just a moment of gratitude, but just these hours of brunch

3:04.3

newcomers, I call this my brunch hour because my brunch time, because prior to me coming on air, I'm working and doing the work of my law center. And then when I come off of air, I go back to my office to finish doing the work of my law center. So this is like my long lunch break or brunch break, I should say, and I find it to be a sacred time. And I'm so grateful that we get to have this moment together.
