Tonight, we return to the rapidly escalating story of Melody Buzzard. It is a disturbing

disappearance of this nine-year-old from Lompoc, California, which is part of Santa Barbara

County. It is a case that is literally unfolding in real time with new news breaking

almost hourly today, just to get you caught up. Her mother, 40-year-old Ashley Buzzard, was released

from custody. She was arrested for false imprisonment. We'll get to that. And she was released from

custody under supervision after being charged, as I said, with felony false imprisonment.

That's for allegedly holding a man hostage with a box cutter in her home that is a friend of hers.

And this comes, as I said earlier, as detectives now serve basically a 72-hour notice,

essentially saying, produce Melody or provide credible information about our whereabouts,

or you will be under arrest.
