Hey everybody, Rob mower here and today we are talking about model Y, specifically Vins and some of the ordering process.

Then we have release notes on Tesla's latest software update,

as well as an update on service in Michigan.

Tesla stock on the day today was down 3.3% to 724.54 cents that compared to the Nasdak down 3.3% to 724.54 that compared to the NASDAQ down 3.1%.

All right, so for Model Y, we are now 10 days away from the first expected delivery date of March 15th.

And we now have our first reports of these early orders

receiving vehicle identification numbers or VINs. This is of course one of the

first signs of imminent delivery as this is when Tesla matches up an

individual vehicle with the future owner.

So the way these vehicle identification numbers work, it's a series of 17 individual characters.

The first 11 characters give general information about the vehicle such as manufacturer, model

a year, things like that, and in the last six characters are the unique serial number for

that individual vehicle.

The information that we have today comes from both Reddit and from the Tesla Motors Club forums

with future owners sharing that they have just received their Vins and sharing a

part of their serial numbers which allows us to get a handle on where

Tesla may be at in terms of production.

Now, those of you that were with us through the model 3 ramp up,

this is not a perfect indicator of where Tesla is.

So if you see a vehicle number 800, that doesn't necessarily mean Tesla has produced 800 of that type of vehicle, in this case the model why.

We don't exactly know how Tesla batches various vehicle identification numbers, so we're still going to track Vins and we're about to be right in the thick of that just like we were for model three, but it is just important to keep that in mind.
