Today we are talking about an explosive crash for a model three

that occurred this weekend in Russia.

Tesla stock on the day today did finish down 2.55% to $229 one cent as compared to the

NASDAQ down 1.20%.

As many of you have probably seen already because of the publicity that it has gotten so far.

The biggest news of today is a crash involving a Tesla Model 3 that occurred in Russia.

As we know, Tesla crashes always get an outsized amount of attention, but this one in particular even more so because it involved

a model three catching fire and also experiencing an explosion all caught on film from actually

multiple cameras. If you haven't seen those videos yet,

the circumstance that led to this accident

was a tow truck, pulled off on the side of the road

with its hazards on, but still significantly

protruding into the fast lane on a Russian highway.

The model 3 was approaching from behind.

We later found out from the owner in an interview that that was at about 60 miles per hour

and that the car was on some type of autopilot, the driver just saying quote-unquote driver assist, but also that the driver did not see the tow truck.

As the model three got closer to the tow truck, I would say probably two car lengths or so away the brake lights come on which

appears to be a function of the automatic emergency braking system certainly

reducing the impact of the collision and then from there for me it's not clear
