0:29.6	clearly Dick Harputlian's desperation shows through. This was one of countless pretrial hearings. I honestly lost count.
0:39.3	Each one was another opportunity for Dick to hold a press conference, throw out wild theories,
0:45.3	and try to influence the jury pool.
0:47.3	And yes, I was absolutely worried about combating their media manipulation.
0:53.3	Dick and Jim were masters at it, comparing themselves to John Adams and Abraham Lincoln,
0:59.0	accusing prosecutors of misconduct and planning seeds of doubt about Eddie Smith,
1:04.0	about groundskeepers, and about anyone but Ehrlich Murdoch.
1:08.0	Mainstream media ate it up, printing headlines exactly as Dick wanted them to.
1:13.6	It was exhausting and infuriating.
1:16.6	But you know what?
1:17.6	Dick and Jim never found those real killers they kept promising to investigate.
