I'm your host, Andrew Brand. We're produced by Jack Connell, musical producer, my traveling partner in Asia last couple weeks.

sports, primarily football with my background, but other sports as well. Trying to give you

a real sort of education, enlightenment, and maybe even entertainment as you go through

your day, your week, and your understanding of sports and sports business, what goes on behind

the game. So let's get right to it. I'm going to start with America's team. The Dallas Cowboys,

and I use America's team because I've started watching this documentary on Netflix.

I'm only a couple episodes in, but it's fascinating to me because, yes, I was at a certain

age when they were popular in these late 80s, early 90s features that we're seeing,

but I don't remember a lot of this stuff. I didn't even remember

the Cowboys were owned by a guy named Bum Bright back in the day, and that's who sold it to this

oil and gas tycoon coming in, brash and full of gusto and provado from Arkansas named Jerry Jones.

Talks about the Saturday Night Massacre where they interrupted regular programming on TV

to have a press conference of him buying the team and whatever he said and looking over to,

it was kind of known that Jimmy Johnson was going to come into his coach, which meant that

Tom Landry would not be coach.

He looked over to Tech Schram, who was the GM kind of president, all-knowing leader of the Dallas

Cowboys, and basically said, I want your job, and he took his job.

It was serious.
