Welcome to a good football show. My name is Pat Karein. I'm joined today by John Dagle of NBC Sports Edge and our special guest, Eric Bimfore of Rotogranders and the newly launched Spike Week.

0:27.0

Here to talk, Best Ball is going to be kind of a big, I don't know if it'll be the last big best ball show we do, but certainly want to kind of do a bit of an overview as we sort of transition here. We're getting kind of close into, you know, traditional manage leagues.

0:41.0

Dagle, you were mentioning today on Twitter, we're getting into home league season. So it's time to, to kind of get our big kind of final thoughts on Best Ball and honestly can't think of two better guys to do that with.

0:52.0

This is the, the champagne bottle busting it on the side of the ship to Best Ball as we send it off having said that Eric's going to take it over at Spike Week.

1:02.0

And I will definitely be tuning in throughout the season. For now, I got to admit, Eric, I'm just leaving it to you because I am so tired. There is so much thinking that goes into every single line of every time you pull up an app, no matter what format it is. And I'm just happy to be done with it for the time being.

1:19.0

It's insane. And then you start to like guarantee bringing yourself when you've done so many drafts. I know you guys have done a ton of drafts. I've done, I don't even know what I'm up to now. I mean, it's, you become sort of like a robot. And then you start to think like, okay, well, do I need to, you know, do I need to pivot to different guys?

1:37.0

Do I need to pivot to different strategies? And then, you know, you can kind of start to get lost about, you know, about this time of the year is I feel like when you start to get a little bit like not lost.

1:47.0

You know, like, okay, I have my like plan of attack for the year, but do I need to dabble a little bit more in, you know, some things that we'll get into with different structures and different strategies, different players, right?

1:56.0

You know, the chat is already talking about, you know, a poster boy Antonio Gibson, but it's like, like I'm sick of talking about Antonio Gibson, like for three straight months, I've been talking about the same guy and drafting the same guy.

2:08.0

And you start to get to this, this like most brain part, part of the season. So I'm excited to kind of, you know, do like, you know, it's obviously not the last show for me for best ball.

2:19.0

I'll be continuing on for the foreseeable future, but like it is important, I think to think about things, you know, through a different lens, think about maybe, you know, where not necessarily you could be wrong, but where you need to, you know, maybe make some strategy tweaks or structure tweaks or, or player tweaks to make sure that you're still, you know,

2:37.0

putting together a sound portfolio and strategy for the whole season.

2:41.0

You haven't coined it necessarily, but basically I've seen you say it the most that we don't know anything. And you don't need that by we don't know anything. Maybe you do, actually, but what you're saying is that we know much less than we think we do.

2:55.0

So I think like genuinely best ball season, I was already at zero F's like a player analysis or whatever about rankings and everything. We can go back to March and I've been on the podcast saying that, you know, we have finite lives who cares about the RV three or four.

3:08.0

And like best ball season, I feel like maybe care even less because now I take everything into account and say, you know what, I don't know.

3:16.0

So let me go with this player instead. And I still like to have my spin analysis, of course, because I think spreading out your exposure also leads to absolutely no layer because then you're just overexposed to every single player, even if you don't believe in that player situation.

3:29.0

But overall, I think it is a good point to have, even as we enter redress season, it's just like you do not know as much as you think you know. And I'm sure some of the players we're going to talk about, if not players, we don't talk about a lot of miles gaskin, let's say, prove that this past weekend.

3:43.0

Yeah, I think the exposure points are really good one. I also think just doing all this best ball. I've never felt more prepared for my manage leaks from my high stakes leagues. I mean, getting in all those reps and not just kind of knowing the flow of drafts and the boards.

3:56.0

And kind of where the pockets are in this year, I do feel like I know that better than ever. But I also know for fact that not every draft is my only draft, you know, I've got a whole portfolio here.

4:07.0

So if there's a guy in a high stakes draft that I really feel like I need to have, you know, and first of all, I don't because I'm doing a bunch of those too. But even still, you're like, it's easier to kind of stay within structure, not kind of forced things, not reach necessarily.

4:21.0

So I think it's been very beneficial, but I did the exposure thing leads me to kind of first topic I want to talk about. And these are going to be some of these are going to be kind of galaxy brain topics, which is I think important a little bit because while we've been drafting and doing a ton of these so far, there's still a ton of drafting left to go.

4:37.0

So even though, you know, on this pod, we're going to be talking mostly about management is going for it. I know we're still going to be drafting a ton of teams. So I kind of want to check in with you guys on some of these thoughts I've been having one of them is with the exposures, we now have not only different sites, drafters, underdog, FAPC NFFC draft Kings, all these different sites providing best ball.
