This is Michael Silverblatt, and today, in honor of April Fool's Day, I've invited Mitch Siskind, the author of Divine Deception, the Inner Gender of Gender, published by Earl University Press, to speak about some of the more mysterious aspects of gender theory, which is really one of the most perverse and

even spooky areas of academic study in the university today.

I became aware of Mitch's work because for the past 10 years since Bookworm has been on

the air, Dr. Siskind has been sending me his theories in letters and pamphlets on pads, sometimes

even scrawled on the back of railway schedules. And these are opinions and screeds and

outrageous claims that I've always found, why I don't always agree with him, challenging

and peculiar. I think he's one of the most interesting maverick thinkers in the country,

and he revives the tradition of the itinerant scholar.
