Here on the magnificent Monday edition of the yard, it's good to be back in Stargville after about a week over in Hoover, Alabama.

Hung around for you extra day, trying to get some information for you guys. Those of you guys who are Gene Spade subscribers.

You're aware of this and had a chance to

speak to oh Tim Corbin and j Johnson and tony vatello and mark kingston from south

carolina and just to get some information you know and unfortunately things didn't go the way we

hoped that doesn't change a whole lot other than the fact

that we do not get to host a regional at-duty noble field there's one thing I

want to say before we get too deep in the weeds here I have seen some people

out there and I don't know where this comes from that have said well it's an

easier path to Omaha if we don't host.

And let me explain to you why that makes no sense.

We were either going to be, you know, the 15 or 16 seed and host here at Duty Noble Field.

We're still going to be in the 15, 16, 14, 13 type region.

Some of that will be based on geography rather than actual merit.

And so you're still going to be paired up with a top eight national seed in the super

regional round if you're fortunate enough to advance.

So no, we gain nothing.

Absolutely nothing. In fact, it makes it more

difficult because now you're going to have to beat two number ones in their own

ballpark. It's always better to host. There is no easier path to Omaha as a number two.
