If you have a Bible and I hope you do, the beauty of the gospel, the God has saved us.

He's freed us from the power and the penalty of sin.

He's put us in Christ who's now our life.

So we gather together to surrender our lives.

Our lives are yours and we're your servants.

It's not radical version of Christianity.

This is biblical Christianity. This is what it means to be a follower of Christ.

We don't call the shots. He calls the shots.

Matthew Chapter 2. So when I was pasturing the Church of Burkills, I had kind of a reputation

around the church for ruining Christmas kittles

and it wasn't my intent to be a Grinch

but as we walked through the word I just thought it helpful to at least make some

observations on some of the songs that we so commonly sing at this time of year.

So take Silent Night, Holy Night, for example. So a great song, a peaceful

song, a lovely song, but a rather misleading song. I think the mystery of Christmas is that Christ was born as a baby, God in the flesh.
