Hana Warren died three months after Palo operated on her.

Her parents were heartbroken.

She was just two years old.

They wrote a beautiful post on Facebook almost immediately.

They wrote about the largeness of her life, despite it being so short.

After all, Hannah was hardly supposed to survive past birth, and the early days of new types of transplants are always

fraught.

As anyone knows from the history of medicine, you always lose patients, unfortunately,

at the beginning of something like that.

It happened with every transplant you can think of, heart transplants, lung transplants.

There are going to be problems at the beginning. It's inevitable. It's a learning curve.

And so they chose to see Hannah as a pioneer in this exciting field and that

it was not all lost because at the start of it they had been told that she wouldn't live

past the age of six.

With Hannah's death, Benita also had to make a decision

about what to do with the documentary.

Her plan to follow the inspirational story

of a cutting-edge transplant surgeon that saved a baby's life

no longer had a happy ending.
