We start in Minneapolis, where CNN hosted a town hall last night.

This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. This is an American issue.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey defended the city's sanctuary policies

and called again for federal immigration agents to leave the city.

The event focused on how state, local, and federal officials can tamp down tensions

after the killings of Renee Good and Alex Preti,

two U.S. citizens who lived in Minnesota.

Local faith leaders and lawmakers also spoke up, including three Republicans, who blamed

both the Trump administration and Democratic state and local leaders for the unrest.

Meanwhile, in Dallas, Democratic representatives Joaquin Castro and Jasmine Crockett called for the release of five-year-old Liam Conejo-Ramos, who was taken from his home in Minnesota and is now in DHS detention in South Texas.
