Hello and welcome to the game theory off season preview series where Bryce

Simon and I break down all 30 NBA teams forthcoming summers, but they have to make

decisions on how to compete with the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs, as well

as the New York Knicks.

Shout out to the Knicks.

But man, there's probably no team in more of a pickle in that regard than the Minnesota Timberwolves

to me because this is an awesome team, Bryce. They're so good. They have Anthony Edwards,

who is one of the eight or so best players in the NBA. They've Rudy Gobert, who's genuinely

one of the three best defenders in the NBA and has continued, in my opinion, to like age like a fine wine and keep getting better and better.

Jaden McDaniels, same deal, took a massive leap in this year's playoffs as an offensive creator, it felt like at times.

They have Julius Randall, who continues to be a useful like 2010 and five guy, 19, eight and five guy,

whatever you want to call it. And yet they just feel short right now. They feel like they're

short compared to San Antonio and Oklahoma City, both of whom are also younger than they are

and are probably going to get better

as this thing goes, whereas at some point, Rudy Gobert, Julius Randall are going to get

like a little bit worse.

This is one of the harder offseason previews, in my opinion, to do because I'm like, I'm like a little bit stuck, but I'm interested to hear where you are on this as we kind of run through the possibilities of what they could do and how they can get creative.

Yeah.

I mean, it's a hard one because it's like, what path do they take, right?

This is a team that over the last three years went Western Conference Finals,

Western Conference Finals, and then dropped back to the Western Conference semifinals. And listen, there's no. Due to injury, too. Correct. That's what I was he say. They go, I'll be hurt. Yeah, there's no shame in that. Like, I'm not saying that in an overly negative, underachieving way. they were injured and they ran into the San Antonio Spurs, right? Like, so it's just one of those things where what does that mean then

moving forward, right? Do you look at your team and say, we were injured? We think if we kind of bring this thing back, we can get right back to where we were the first two years and maybe further.
