0:00.0 | Hey Jordan Harbinger here from the Art of Charm. Welcome to Miniso and Monday. This is your weekly shot of personal development espresso and I'm happy to be here with you kicking off the week with something quick and actionable that you can implement right away. |
0:14.0 | Something that'll ideally make you more magnetic and effective now today. |
0:18.6 | I'm watching a lot of news. I watch a lot of documentaries and you see occasionally you see something that you know about already I see something where I'm very familiar topic body language or something about something on the internet or online marketing something like that that I just I know about already and I know it well and I realize man the coverage here is terrible this newscaster this reporter they don't know anything about it they've got a lot of things wrong they're really very exaggerating here and they're missing the details there. |
0:48.2 | Bear in mind that that is essentially every bit of media coverage you just know how to see the holes because it's a topic with which you're familiar so watch a media production is your homework watch a media production by a news agency or a journalist about a subject in which you are an expert self style door professional maybe not a documentary maybe something a little bit lower commitment if you don't have time. |
1:12.2 | Now see how much they oversimplify how much they exaggerate how much they omit or simply just don't cover adequately at all and you can see all the gaps in their coverage now remember that the media is like this with everything we tend to see all the gaps in coverage where we have a great grasp on the subject itself and yet we often blindly trust what we are told about subjects that we don't understand is fully. |
1:40.7 | The lack of coverage and flawed presentation are present in nearly everything that we are actually presented everything that we see remember how you felt about coverage of your chosen subject next time you feel a reaction reaction such as fear or anger coming when you're seeing something from those same media sources for the first time right so if you see it and you know all about it and you think that's not really like that and then you see something else that you don't know about and you start feeling anxious you're wondering is this going to be it just remember that cover. |
2:10.7 | The coverage is equal in quality you just can't tell because one you know a lot about the other you don't so keep that in mind next time you're evaluating sources or the content or the quality of information in a source. |
