I hope everyone has enough supplies and you're getting through this crazy coronavirus episode

that we're experiencing in the States right now. I know it's kind of a weird time, but Sarah and I want to just continue to put

out regular podcasts and maybe help you out if you're feeling anxious, you can listen to us

rattle on about Mormon things and maybe take your mind off of it for a moment. So I'm going to dive into an email right now from a listener

regarding the, if you haven't listened to a couple of episodes ago, Sarah and I talked about

the $100 billion tithing money that the church was hoarding. And this email is in regards to that

episode. So go back and listen to that if you haven't. Here we go. Hey, just listen to your episode on the

$100 billion tithing thing. And it was so good. Thank you. I am enraged every

time I think about this issue and the church's dumb-ass responses to it. Ugh. Same. Hard same.

Anyway, I have a story I thought I'd share just in case you guys do a follow-up episode about this.

My husband and I are in the military, and we have two small children under the age of three.

We aren't high-ranking in the military yet, so our paychecks are pretty small, especially to support a family of four. We live very much paycheck to paycheck, and are really good at

counting pennies, but we get by and we are happy.

But last year, our paychecks got taken away during that 35-day government shutdown, and we missed two whole pay periods. That's a big deal for our family, and my husband was deployed

at the time, so I was home alone, living thousands of miles away from any family or friends, trying

to get by with my two little kids while having no money coming in.

It was an incredibly stressful time.

It got to a point where we had eaten literally all of the food in the house and had no money

to go buy more.

So being the full tithe payer that I had been for the first 20 years of my life, I went to
