Welcome to this on-air with Ella minisode. A little bite-sized boost to your day. Always quick,

0:05.8

always thought-provoking, and always under 10 minutes. Let's go. Lisa, I think before we get in to

0:18.3

the six principles that can help you lead a simpler and arguably more joyful life,

0:24.2

before we do that, can we talk about why this matters?

0:26.1

Because somebody is out there going, why am I talking about decluttering?

0:30.5

And oftentimes also keeps you stuck in the past.

1:18.2

So there's so many connections to other things.

1:20.9

And the most important connection I always make, it really frees your mind.

1:24.9

So our exterior has such a profound impact on our mind,

1:30.9

on our mental state. It creates space. If you just free yourself from everything that doesn't matter,

1:37.8

things have an energy field around us. And the average American household has 300,000 items. Just think about that, right,

1:47.5

for a second. And those things need to be maintained. So it's a time suck. It's an energy suck.
