Welcome to the Christian O'Connell Show podcast. So today is the official due date for Jack's son. Not here yet. He'll be here when he wants to arrive.

Earlier on this week, I was Sena Jack. Whilst you wait, why don't you write a letter to him about everything you expect to be as a dad in your relationship together?

I love writing letters to my kids on their birthdays and Christmas time of that. It's a really nice thing to do.

And I just thought it might be something you might enjoy doing. And years to come, when he's a bit older than that,

you know, he'll be able to read it himself and you can just sort of keep a tally of how it's gone over the years, your relationship together.

So, Jack, I know actually, you've actually spent quite a bit of time with it this week.

Are you happy with it?

I've actually loved doing it.

At the start, when he said it on Monday, I was like, I hope he comes overnight so I can get out of doing that letter. And that's why I hired you.

I want a guy next to me in my right hand who is reluctant in every opportunity.

But I'm glad I persevered with it because I'm very happy with it.

And I actually hope it is something that he reads, you know, at 10 years old, a 20 years old,

and at 30 years old and he finds something different or it speaks to him in a different way each time he reads it.

Yeah, it will do because your relationship will change.

All right, Jackie, when you're good, yeah, I can't wait to hear it. Go for it.

Okay, this is aptly named letter to my son.

It's my first time being a dad. It's your first time being alive.

You can ride up on my shoulders.

I can see the world through your eyes.

Catching bugs, building sandcastles, jumping in puddles and skipping stones.

Know that from now, until forever, you will never be alone.

Make jokes. Make music, make mischief, live your life with joy. Harbour big dreams for your future, but take time to be a boy.
