Hey, this is the Christian O'Connell Show podcast.

Yesterday was the big freeze. I think it's the 11th year that's been going out.

It's an amazing institution.

What a legend, Neil Danner here is.

Yesterday I was invited to, before the game, to a lunch.

And I was invited along with Mick Malloy.

Now, Mick is one of my radio heroes.

I've been lucky enough to meet Mick a couple of times.

He's a lovely guy.

So I was very excited that Mick and I were going to have a long lunch together. And Mick is

a legend for his love of a long lunch. So we were told to get to this Olympic room where there's

going to be 600 people there. Band Dehanna had good up and did an incredible speech about his dad

and the charity and all the money they're

raised and what they're doing with it. It was incredible. So anyway, I get there. I'm very excited.

I go to our table and I see that my name is next to Mick. I take a photo of it. I send it back

to my wife because she knows what Mick means to me in the show Martin and Malloy. I still have,

the first radio boss I had was in Australian in 1998, and obviously there was no podcast in them.

But he would tell me about this Aussie duo called Martin Maloy.

And I thought it was just one person. He went, no, no, no, it's two people, okay?

Very Australian way, just crunched two names together.
