All right. Well, welcome back. I am hanging out here with Pete from the Days of Noah podcast, and this is Rod from the millennial mustard seed. And we're continuing this mini series, which we find to be very edifying and helpful.

And it's great to be back in the airways with you, Pete.

And we have some material to pick up on from last week's airing.

Yeah.

So we left off talking about the parable of the sower in Matthew chapter 13 as an explanation or an elaboration rather of when we observe people that seem to walk away from their faith.

And again, to clarify, this is not going through a rough patch in your

faith or a season of sin as we've all had those issues. This is more of an about face,

dramatically turning the other way and saying, God, I don't want anything to do with you any longer.

And one of the questions that we left off with as we are titling this series,

Rethinking Eternal Security, is talking about that third type of soil in that parable

that falls amongst the thorns, where it says that it didn't

produce fruit because the cares of the world and the riches of the world and the deceitfulness of those

things choked it out so you could think of that person as not walking by the spirit, but walking by the soul.

And their faith withered.

So we kind of left off with, well, is that person saved?

I mean, it just says they didn't produce fruit.

And we don't want to think about workspace salvation.

So do we have to produce fruit?

That's a tricky one. I'm going to let you guys kind of wrestle with that on your own.

But as a reference, right out of the book of Matthew in chapter 7, Rod, we have another parable that might answer that. Can you go through that?

Matthew 7, verse 16 through 20. By their fruit, you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbush or figs from thistle?

Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
