Sometimes this all hits me.

As a grown-up, right?

There are things that still make me nervous or anxious when I go to use them.

Jack, you had this experience yesterday when you were cooking.

Yeah, and I should have grown out of mine now in my 30s, but I still get very nervous taking things out of the oven.

I don't like, yeah, I don't like...

It's the sides of death.

I fear that my hands will touch the sides of the oven

or that the teetails with which I hold the dish

will not be strong enough to guard the heat

and the heat will transfer into my hands.

The moment you open up the oven door, put it down or whatever you do, it's always, to me, it's always this,

oh, yeah.

You know it's hot in there and I always get, it's fighting that I'm going to touch the sides.

So once a day I can, I can live with. But yesterday we were roasting a chicken and every 20

minutes we were meant to get it out and baste it. So every 20 minutes I was going back in there,

my hands are going to touch the sides? Are these teetails folded over and up? I fold over the

teetails so much they become like a little square brick. Because twice isn't enough. You've got to do

a third or four ply.

I'm doing it.
