Hello my friends it is time once again for the morning mind said I'm so

thankful you are with me I'm so grateful that you are taking the time to get your

mind aligned with the truth of God's

word and as we're headed toward the new year that's especially important because

many of us use the new year as a time to kind of chart a new course and refresh the mindsets that we've had in the

past that have served us so well.

And that's why we're doing this series on Mindset.

And today we're going to be looking at 1st Peter chapter 1 verse number 13

and talking about what it means for us as believers in Christ to prepare our minds

for action. Before we dive in, let's pray together that God will be our teacher.

Lord God give us your grace to understand what you have for us to understand today.

Apply your truth to our hearts in a way that will fuel us in powerful ways as we go into this

new year that we will give you great honor, we will give you great glory in the way that we live because of how we think in

Jesus name. Amen. Okay friends open up your copy of the scriptures to 1st

Peter chapter 1 verse number 13 now we're doing something

here that I always advise people not to do so it's going to take me a moment to

just tell you why we're doing that. 1st Peter

chapter 1 verse 13 begins with the word therefore.

And therefore should always be an indicator to you

that there's something before it you need to understand in order for what comes after that word therefore to make sense.

So there's a theological underpinning, you might say, in the previous part of chapter one that we haven't

read but yet we're jumping right into verse 13 without that context we're doing
