In episode fifty-five of The Running Effect, I speak with Anna Rohrer. In high school, Anna was a phenomenal athlete. She was a two-time Foot Locker National Champion and was the Gatorade Cross Country National Player of the year in 2014-2015.

Anna then went on to an extremely successful career at the University of Notre Dame where she was an 8-time All-American. At Notre Dame, Anna got an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and a master's degree in business management.

Anna uses both the skills she learned as an athlete, and skills she learned from studying Neuroscience in both her jobs currently. Firstly, Anna is a mindset coach at a company called, "Dreamfuel". At Dreamfuel, Anna teaches high level companies the mental performance skills needed to maximize their performance. She also has her own company called, "Next Level Racing" where she trains athletes both physically and mentally.

In this episode, we do a massive deep dive into the mental performance world. We talk about and go through subjects such as: confidence, belief, pressure, goal-setting (and how dopamine affects it from a neurological standpoint), the importance of being process-oriented, the importance of failure, visualization, and so so much more! Whether you're the best runner in the country or the CEO of a company, the wisdom Anna shares in this episode is very applicable to everyday life.

As the GOAT🐐Eliud Kipchoge says, “Athletics is not so much about the legs. It’s about the heart and mind.”
