Summary

LIKE | SUBSCRIBE | SHARE (: In episode fifty-five of The Running Effect, I speak with Colleen Little PT, DPT, OCS. Colleen is a full-time physical therapist for Nike working closely with the renowned Bowerman Track Club. Before becoming a PT, Colleen was an accomplished soccer player at the University of Portland where she was a 2xNCAA champion (2002 & 2005). After she graduated college she started running and has actually won two marathons in her career. In this episode we dive deep into Colleen's incredible soccer career where she won two NCAA titles and the lessons she learned from her legendary Coach, Clive Charles. We then dive into her time at the Bowerman Track Club, helping Shalane Flanagan come back from knee surgery, the Olympics, fixing Grant Fisher's calf right before his 5k prelim, Project Eclipse, and so much more! Many people see the results of the Bowerman Track Club, but don't see the people behind their success. One of the main people behind their success who gets little recognition is Colleen. Colleen works day in and day out to make sure these athletes are healthy to maximize their potential! Colleen was also a vital part of "Project Eclipse". This project was for US distance legend Shalane Flanagan to run all six World Marathon Majors within 42 days. Colleen was there every single day helping with whatever Shalane needed. Shalane ended up finishing this momentous challenge and attributes a lot of her success to Colleen's care and guidance. Anyone that has spoken to Colleen will know she's more than just a world class PT, but also a world class human. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with her and hope you do as well!
