| 0:00.0 | Hi, it's Zeef here. Welcome to Radiohead Space and to Tuesday. |
| 0:20.9 | I wanted to spend some time today talking about how mindfulness can support our use of |
| 0:26.3 | technology. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone when I say that my use of technology has really |
| 0:33.2 | increased over the past couple of years as we've spent so much more time in front of our screens. |
| 0:40.1 | And I don't think I realized how much it impacted me until I couldn't find my phone the other day |
| 0:46.3 | and it really made me panic. It wasn't just the inconvenience factor of potentially losing my phone. |
| 0:52.6 | I realized I've been developing a pretty unhealthy relationship with it. Living away from my family, |
| 0:59.9 | I think also plays a role. I feel like if I don't have my phone, I might miss something from them |

| 1:40.3 | into getting rid of our phones and computers. That would not be helpful at all. But instead to |
| 1:47.4 | look at ways to use it more mindfully. And one of those is recognising when it's not making us |
| 1:53.6 | feel good and if it's impacting our mental health. So I don't think I'm alone in having |
| 2:01.4 | developed some bad habits. And one of those habits is to react to air-free little thing, every sound, |
| 2:08.1 | every vibration from my phone or computer. We're so primed with the ping of a text message or an alert |
| 2:15.2 | and it can leave us in a constant state of distraction as we switch between so many things. |
| 2:21.8 | And this can have a big impact cognitively. It can tire us and wear us down. So something I'm |
| 2:28.6 | trying out right now is turning off all notifications. Now this might seem like a drastic thing to do, |
| 2:35.6 | but it's amazing the difference it makes. I can still see if someone has messaged or called, |
