Summary

During the early morning hours on March 29th, 2019, 21-year-old Samantha Josephson, a student at the University of South Carolina, was out with friends in the Five Points district of Columbia. Although her friends were looking to spend a night out on the town, Samantha wanted to call it a night early and ordered an Uber home shortly after 2 a.m. When the car arrived, she notified her boyfriend Greg that she was heading home. She then got into a black Chevy Impala and departed from Five Points district. But Greg, who was able to track Samantha’s phone, noticed that she was heading in the opposite direction of her apartment - and shortly thereafter, was disconnected altogether from the app and unable to see her location. The next day Greg and Samantha’s friends all realized that she had actually never made it home that morning and soon everyone would soon learn the horrific truth - the Uber that Samantha Josephson got into… was no Uber at all.  Written by Ryan Williams, Executive Produced by Michael Ojibway.    Visit Invisible Choir on the web:  Patreon - Invisible Choir Premium:  https://www.patreon.com/InvisibleChoir  Website:  https://www.invisiblechoir.com/  Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/InvisibleChoirPodcast/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/invisiblechoir/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/InvisibleChoir Written/Audio Sources:  Boyfriend of slain University of South Carolina was “on the phone” with her Boyfriend says “he immediately knew something was wrong” ‘She was the love of my life’ ‘She had absolutely no chance’ father says South Carolina man charged with kidnapping, killing of NJ woman ‘Our hearts are broken’ Columbia SC Police say Coroner: South Carolina student died from multiple ‘sharp force injuries’ Samantha Josephson: What we know about her death What we know now about the USC student’s death Funeral services held for Samantha Josephson Warrants say missing student had wounds all over her body New details released, timeline Suspect in the murder of Samantha Josephson denied bond Phones tell story after missing USC student kidnapped, killed ‘Her spot is there’ Samantha Josephson murdered and dumped in woods Josephson family ‘still in fog’ Rowland Trial Day 3: Gruesome evidence South Carolina student’s body had ‘very little blood left’ Day 4 Coverage of Trial Rowland likely wrote cryptic murder note Defense claims DNA evidence not linked to suspect Closing arguments in trial begin Nathaniel Rowland found guilty  After 28 months of sleepless nights, Samantha Josephson’s family gets justice What’s My Name Boyfriend of Samantha Josephson testifies during trial Turkey hunter who found Samantha Josephson’s body ‘startled’ by what he found Body Cam of Nathaniel Rowland arrest Columbia PD presser on Samantha Josephson case Samantha Josephson Vigil Seymour Josephson speaks out at vigil Murder suspect Nathaniel Rowland’s parents speak on his behalf, claim his innocence Neighbor talks about murder suspect Web Extra: Samantha Josephson Family Statement  SC vs. Nathaniel Rowland Trial Day 5 - Direct Exam of Dr. Thomas Beaver Nathaniel Rowland found guilty of murdering Samantha Josephson “He’s guilty of murder” Judge stops mother of Nathaniel Rowland Seymour Josephson speaks during Nathaniel Rowland sentencing Lawmakers see mixed success on bills filed after UofSC student’s murder Sami's Law A82, R102, H4380 Music & Sound Effect Sources Opening Track: Lost In The Dust - Cobby Costa Closing Track: Temporary Stop - Jay Varton Music & Sound Effect Sources All music and sound effects used with express permission under unlimited blanket license authority from Epidemic Sound ® and SoundStripe ®.  Individual sources are available via request at info@invisiblechoir.com  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
