Typically, we think it has many names and forms, right? In fact we think all of the above are

distinct, discrete facets of our minds or what it means to be a human being with an inner life or whatever.

But maybe all of those different things are just angles of a single entity, your psyche. I mean though we typically

think of our inner critic, our conscience, our intuition as unique phenomena, maybe they all want the same thing.

Maybe they're just part of the

Daimen, whatever. I do quite like that latter term, the Damon,

particularly in the context that psychologist James Hillman talks about it in his book

Souls Code.

He says that, I'll read this quote, the Damon motivates, it protects, it invents and persists with stubborn fidelity, it resists

compromising reasonableness and often forces deviance and oddity upon its caper, especially when neglected or opposed.

It offers comfort and can pull you into its shell but it cannot abide innocence.

And as I understand it, it can't abide innocence because innocence is naive, it's the opposite of your fully formed self that it's trying to get you to transmute into.

And I'm bringing this up because this idea came up while riffing with Ballelli

the notion that we need to feed our Damon daily we need to listen to its restlessness and its emanations from deep down that signal that

wants you to discover you.
