Philip here I have to say I generally think that I am a pretty positive person. I don't think there's much

utility in brining in my own pessimistic juices. But we really do have all the reason in the world to stew

ourselves into a fish-shaking kerfuffle because there is no shortage of atrocious outrages going on out there.

But what really consistently ignites my vitriol like nothing else is when profit takes precedence over human suffering, especially in the instances where nobody wants to do anything

about it because they're afraid of the consequences.

And you particularly see this happening when it involves these oligarchs and corporations

with Scrooge McDuck levels of money, these senescent cancerous people and power structures

with a vice grip on thenads of society.

I think those are the real bogeymen because there is a straight line

from them to a lot of our ills personally and sociately.

And yeah, maybe it's more indirect and gradual

than that in the majority of cases, but there are plenty of times where it is terribly obvious, where there is practically a

slime trail of carcinogenic myasmagoubers that trickles directly from the penthouse of some black

phallic skyscraper in Manhattan all the way to your doorstep.

And there are plenty of ripe examples.

I mean predatory loans, private prisons.

But I think the most rotten manifestation of what I'm talking about are out of

control pharmaceutical companies that thrive off of direct commodification of something that physically influences the health of human beings.

And it would be wonderful if their abuses were rare instances, but unfortunately we're awash in their greed and

incompetence.
