So you and I decided to focus this episode on thrillers, the four main books at least,

because, well, is it just me or does it seem like every third novel I pick up is a thriller?

Like, not in a straight up Tom Clancy, Stephen King-esque way, but, you know, they are thrillers nonetheless.

So, Alison, in your literary estimation, what constitutes a thriller?

I would say it's usually a book that has a lot more tension than a mystery.

You know, with mysteries, like I'm thinking back to murder at Gull's Nest that we featured

on our first episode where the pacing is slightly slower.

And with thrillers, I usually find that there's more blood and gore.

Not always.

Not always. But usually somebody or more than one person is in peril
