I am such a big fan of Miles Jupp.

Don't believe me, this is his third appearance on the pod.

I don't think we've had anybody else three times.

We've had a couple of two-timers, but not a three-timer.

That's how much I like him.

He's here to talk primarily about the extension of his

live show tour on I-Bang, in which he tells the story, a rather upsetting story, although

ultimately it has a happy ending of his seizure and subsequent removal of a brain tumor.

If I tell you that that makes for a very, very funny show,

you may say, well, how can that be?

And I would say to you, go and see it.

talking. You settle down now. Maybe in a nice room with a little lamp at the side of you, a little

glass of something nice there. The lights are dimmed. You feel that all is well with the world as you enjoy, Brydon

and Miles Jupp.

Talking to Miles Chup about whether or not we look at reviews, what you ask, you may ask somebody, what's the general feeling? Yeah, yeah, that's true, but I don't want, I mean, if you did a stand-up show or something or a play, then eventually you walk past a poster and some quotes have appeared on it, so that's kind of unavoidable. But they're only ever going to be good, aren't they? Yeah, that's true. So that's very selective. But if there's none have appeared on it, then you also know, oh, hello. I remember being a play once in the West End, and the headline quote that they went for was from, I think, Smooth FM, something like that. Yeah. And then later someone said, oh, that had a great review in the

stage. And you thought, wouldn't that be the one you put outside of theatre? But, yeah, I know, I try and avoid these things. It's like you, I suspect, quite sort of sensitive to that sort of thing. But also that feeling that you think, well, I must, I'm sort of doing it the way I want to do it. so I just need to stick on that path.

Well, I've known people with different approaches to it. Is Miles close enough to his mic for that kind of classic FM feel? Just pull it a wee bit closer because I'm just aware that mine is... Do I need to point it towards me more? You've filled over it, but you haven't really pulled it any closer. You certainly touched it. I don't know how the mechanism works. Of course you do it. This is a simple thing. Just pull it towards you. No, no, it isn't. I want to know if this bit here turns. Yes, I'd love that.
