Summary
Mikey Taylor defined the new American dream when he pursued his passion at a young age by launching a pro skatingboarding career that lasted into his 30s. Now he’s the President and Managing Principle of Commune Capital, a private equity real estate investment firm.
In this podcast, he shares his journey into entrepreneurship. Unlike the majority of us who wish we could escape a job we hate, he faced an identity crisis when he had to leave a career he loved.
As a professional skateboarder, he had lucrative sponsorship contracts, over 100 signature skateboard decks, 7 pro model shoes and a reputation as one of the most recognizable pro skateboarders on the planet.
When he became an entrepreneur, Mikey co-founded and launched Saint Archer Brewing Company. It had a first of its kind business model, which included an Instagram influencer marketing strategy before “influencer marketing” became buzzwords.
