maybe the plant world kind of supports your lifestyle, maybe that's a career path that

you choose, certainly there are a lot of ways to do it.

We've actually talked to microgreen farmers, to edible garden coaches, you know, but Mike

Lazotte, who was on our show today, this is our final episode with Mike for now, who is

the author of many meadows, has a really interesting path, you know, he's the managing partner

now owner, all things seed over at American Meadows, which is a huge seed company.

So Mike, I'm really curious, how did you even get into this game?

Sure, so I'm going to feel a little old here, but I started slinging seed at the age of

13 years old.

So I was, I think a freshman in high school and a friend of mine, at the time, the company

had a large seed shipment coming in and at the time they didn't have a loading dock to

unload it.

So literally the truck would back up and we had to unload 50 pound bags of seed one at

a time and they needed some help unloading.

So I came in and helped them unload and I must have done something right.

So they asked me to come back and at the time I was just doing some odds and then stuff

on the fields and on the weekends, I would go in and I would pack seed.

And so I was 13 years old and I was packing seed and would have 100 different varieties

of seed on the table.

And I have to admit at 13 years old at the time, I wasn't really into gardening that much.
