Scalise.

Hurricane Helene described as a once in a century storm

smacked into the coast of Florida Thursday evening,

with winds topping 130 miles per hour, plunging 250,000 homes in office buildings into darkness.

The storm is expected to pass over Florida and then head into

Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Governors in all five states have declared emergency.

Parts of Alabama may also get heavy wind and rain.

Georgia's governor is already calling Helene

one of the biggest storms we've ever had.

The Associated Press reports that the sheriff in Taylor County,

Florida has advised residents to write their names,

birthdays and other pertinent information on their arms and legs in permanent magic marker so they can be identified.
