it's frightening. Starting in 1948 the national security State was really established then.

You had the 1947 Act which established the Central Intelligence Agency.

You had this new world order that had been created with all these international institutions.

It's a network of alliances institution that were built after World War II

to advance our shared, our shared economic and physical security interests.

It is undergirded by a liberal and additional order that served us in the world well since the end of World War II.

You now had this situation after the 2016 election

where they said, okay, now the entire international order might come undone.

If we don't step up the liberal world order we've championed will quickly become an ill liberal

world order we suffer.

From their perspective, if the military did not begin to censor the internet, all of the democratic institutions and infrastructure

that gave rise to the modern world after World War II would collapse.

With other international events taking place

that are tearing at the fabric of a liberal world order.
