I am the deputy editor of the Spectator and the US editor.

And I think it's fair to say it's been a fairly fascinating time in American politics, life and culture.

who runs the polling company JLP Partners. And he is in America. He's in Washington, D.C.,

where he's been keeping a close eye on the polls and doing a third bit of polling himself on the midterms.

And James, I thought I'd start by asking about these rather interesting election results we're getting in, we're still getting in at the moment.

The big story is California and these two jungle primaries.

They're called one to the mayorship of Los Angeles and the other is the governor

race.

And in the governor race, Steve Hilton has performed pretty well.

But as I understand it, he will face Xavier Bekera, a Democrat, in the actual primary,

and the odds are still pretty significantly against him.

And then Spencer Pratt was this rather interesting figure who did these AI ads,

quite a lot of excitement, quite a lot of buzz about him, Silicon Valley seemed to be excited by him, quite a lot of money

going into his campaign. He will also, as I understand it, get into the final primary, but
