Hello, WineAppers. My name is Jesse Mekum with another episode of the WineApp podcast

where we teach you four rules to help you stop if you pay check, get out of debt and

save more money. Here we are, just about halfway through the year. So it's time for that

halfway through the year check-in, as it were. Y'all know I'm a huge fan of the start

of the year, you know, New Year's rush, budget burn down where you just, you torch it

off. And that's, that's for the first of the year. Middle of the year, I don't do the

burn down unless, unless you're feeling it. You know, I mean, yeah, you can start fresh

whenever you want. But for the mid-year, it's really about looking at the goals, making

sure that you, well, a couple of things. One, do you have reasonable, realistic goals

set on your categories? Are you, are you actually hitting them? Are you funding them?

Are you on track? Because sometimes at the beginning of the year, we can be really ambitious

with our goal setting. And then when six months roll around, you know, you're, you're looking

at you're like, well, we, we're still behind on funding that thing. Well, that thing maybe

just isn't your priority. And this is a time to acknowledge it. Just kind of tidy up

a little bit. Close that down and acknowledge that goal is not what you thought it would

be at the beginning of the year. That sound familiar? Everyone does that all the time.

And it's totally appropriate and fine. It sounded fun in the moment. It sounded like

something you wanted your money to do for you. And your behavior says otherwise. So if

you're working the system, you're working YNABS for rules. These last six months have

kind of showed you what you really care about. You may know a little more now than you

did at the beginning of the year, what your priorities actually are. Now, there'd be maybe

a few spots where you, you kind of are like, I wish, I wish that my priority were this.
