The drama at Open AI continues as more executives continue to depart that company.

That's right. And again, Carl, there's more questions than answers, but here's

what we do know. The people responsible for developing responsible AI and focusing

on the long-term risks, they're dropping like flies from the company.

But Sam Altman, who survived an ouster about six months ago,

he's running the company more like a typical Silicon Valley startup

than a nonprofit research lab, which it technically still is, by the way. Ilia Sitskaver's departure that was followed last week by Jan Liki's exit.

Those are the two people in charge of the safety team at Open AI,

a team called Super Alignment.

Over the past few years, safety culture and processes

have taken a backseat to shiny products,

which isn't a problem.

If the mission is to ship products, make

money, but open AI was supposed to be different. Its mission from the very

beginning was to ensure that AGII artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity.

Now that has given the company an edge in attracting talent to

that want to work there because it has meaningful impact.
