On this edition of the college football inquirer, Michigan has hired a coach.

And it's a guy that probably would not have gotten the job if this were just two years ago.

Also, we preview two college football playoff quarterfinals.

We got two today, two on Tuesday.

We're going to want the left side of the bracket today.

So we'll eat Alabama and Indiana in the Rose Bowl, Texas Tech, and Oregon in the Orange Bowl.

We'll preview those two games because those two teams, the winners of those games, will be matching up in a semifinal.

And there is all manner of subplots in these games, even though Michigan has hired a coach so the Kalyn DeBore stuff can finally die.

But we got to talk about all of it right now on the college football inquire.

I say that as as Godfrey takes a drink.

Literally don't know if that was on.

Well, it's funny because one of us was going to miss today's show because of fishing.

It was either going to be him or me.

His trip got sprung on him sooner than my trip got sprung on me.

And so I ended up being able to renegotiate the time and he could not.

I have not fished at all.

I guess, you know what?

I realize I'm in the landlocked area of this podcast.

So no holiday fishing, although I wish I was right now.
