Mejol Martin is very much the man of the moment he's finally moved his stuff into the Taoiseach's office in government buildings in Dublin.

But quite what that's likely to mean for his political opponents remains unclear.

He's repeatedly demonstrated he has no time for Mary Lou MacDonald.

And his newly established shared island unit is likely to raise eyebrows within unionism.

So who has more to fear from the new man in charge, Sinn Féin or Unionists?

Well, whatever about having something to fear from Mihul Martin,

I think he will make a concerted effort to build bridges with the Stormant executive to have a more productive relationship with it, particularly on the unionist side.

And he would very much not be doing that with Sinn Féin in the South.

We will now have a much more clearly defined government versus opposition

dynamic in the Dahl and Mary Lou MacDonald will be his chief rival. There's no doubt about that.

Sinn Féin has been there by a country mile. Meeho Martin has a natural antipathy to the party.

He'll also be very keen to clawback votes that Féna Foyle lost to Sinn Féin.

Plaw those back for the next election.

In Miho Martin, I think unions have a great friend in power down south. I don't think the shared island project,

the new office that he's going to set up really will threaten unionists at all. I think it'll be

more a talking shop with away days in Dublin and things like that. I think this is very, very good for unionists.

I don't think either of them have anything to fear, to be honest with you.

I mean, no doubt Sinn Féin will find themselves in the crosshairs of the new government,

but that's been the case for a long time.
