And in it, he quotes at length Michelle Obama's speech to the Democratic National Committee

Convention that they just had.

And this is how she rewires America's conversation on race, according to Philip Bump.

Obama said, Kamala Harris, quote, understands that most of us will never be afforded the grace of failing forward.

We will never benefit from the affirmative action of generational wealth.

If we bankrupt a business or choke in a crisis, we don't get a second, third, or fourth chance.

If things don't go our way, we don't have the luxury of whining or cheating others to get further

ahead no Steve this I I dissent when I when I read this when I read this

put that so gently Scott I just I just love you, man.

First of all, Steve, this is Michelle Obama.

You know, that poor inner city kid who's wondering where her next meal is coming from,

who is saying these things.

Steve, what do you make of this idea that most of us,

and she's including herself in that, I suppose,

will never be afforded the grace of failing forward.
