| 0:23.2 | the party appears poised to add control of the Senate to their control of the |
| 0:26.2 | presidency and the House of Representatives. |
| 0:28.6 | This is a key development for markets as it shifts Congress from a gridlock formation to one more consequential legislation has become possible. |
| 0:35.3 | In particular, we now think the U.S. economy, already tracking a sharp recovery, |
| 0:39.6 | is poised to receive yet another boost of fiscal support from Congress. |
| 0:43.0 | Democrats have clearly expressed a desire to go beyond the $900 billion stimulus bill passed last month, |

| 1:07.6 | Doesn't that cut against any support that might come from spending? |
| 1:10.4 | It could, but we think these questions will largely remain hypothetical. |
| 1:13.7 | That's because in the Senate where Democrats have the slimmest majority possible, |
| 1:17.3 | any one Democratic senator effectively has a veto. |
| 1:20.0 | And when it comes to taxes, we expect many of the Biden administration's proposed taxes won't pass muster with Democratic moderates. |
