Hey, this is Craig, and welcome to this week's episode of the full 60.

I honestly don't believe this is hyperbole when I say this week's guess is the best

hockey writer of, at least of my generation that I've ever read.

Michael Farber, longtime Sports Illustrated hockey writer.

Now, still does stuff for SI, does stuff for TSN.

He, you know, he's at the point in his career where he's picking whatever he wants to do.

Some also works with NBC.

He is just an incredible storyteller.

Turns phrases that make you laugh and make you as a writer mad that you didn't think of,

a guy that I just idolize as a writer.

And the best part is about Mike is he is down to earth, helpful. When I was a young national

hockey writer, punk kids showing up on the scene, would take all the time in the world,

whatever you needed. This is a guy you'd sit there and you'd read SI or read a story he did

at an event you

were covering and you just blow us all out of the water. And you never would ever know it in a million years in talking to Mike. Humble, gracious, helpful, amazing. And it all comes across. I mean, I'm sure you've seen him on TV. You've read his stuff. So you know all this about Mike. But this was such a cool opportunity for me to ask questions.

I've always had to go over some details of stories he's written, get to know more about him and how he ended up at SI when we talk about it.

But there was a three-day span where he turned down jobs at the national and SI, which is,

you know, that's, that says a lot about how in demand he is as a writer and, you know,

and how he's been very intentional about the path of his career. There's a lot we can learn from
