Micah.

Take a deep breath and quiet your heart as we become aware of God's loving presence around us and within us.

Today's passage comes from Micah, chapter 6, verse 8.

Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is that the Lord requires of you,

to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.

Recite God's goodness.

Oh, eternal God, you are just. You are loving and faithful and good. And so when you ask the same

of us, you are inviting us to bear your image in the world. Thank you for the privilege of

reflecting your own character to a dying and desperate world.

Take a few moments now to recite God's goodness,

praising him for who he is and for what he has done in your own life. Express your neediness.

God honestly, I totally fail in living out this verse.

I act unjustly toward fellow humans. I'm unfaithful in my relationships.

I'm prideful and arrogant, seeking my own good instead of others.

Forgive me, Lord. Renew a steadfast spirit within me. Grow me to become more like Jesus.

So pause now and express your neediness to God,

confessing your sins and your need for his forgiveness and grace in your life.

Seek his stillness. Invite God's Spirit to change your heart and then sit quietly with him,

becoming aware of his loving presence in dwelling you this very moment.

Trust his faithfulness.

Though this simple command has proven so difficult for me and for every other human, you Jesus

were exactly this kind of person.
