but we will focus on an actual game that transpired first.

That would be Michigan 85, Iowa, 83, a nail-biter at Chrysler Arena.

Remember when they played the game like a few years ago and Michigan scored over 100 and Luca Garza had like 40?

Yeah.

It almost felt a little bit like that.

Sort of, except like neither team was actually that polished offensively.

So we've talked about mid-range jumpers in various contexts.

But earlier this year, we previewed the hoops team and we started in the early part of the season where they're just going to the rim all the time.

We specifically posited that, you know, sometimes mid-range shots may not look like good shots, but there's a trade-off.

Because if you're just taking an 18-footer, you probably aren't turning the ball over.

Right.

And if you're trying to get to the rim, well, then often you will turn the ball over.

And the first half of this game was a perfect encapsulation of that.

Because Iowa kept taking garbage shots.

Right.

But by the end of the first half, they had like one turnover.

Right.

And Michigan kept getting great shots except when they were turning the ball over constantly.

Well, they scored a lot of points early when they didn't turn it over, surprisingly.
