Summary

Welcome to the Multi-FAMILY zone podcast, where business meets family. The hosts of the show, Julia and Gino Barbaro, have been married for over twenty years, and have six children. Julia homeschools the children, and recently became a marriage and life coach to help couples become better communicators and help enrich their lives. The couple is constantly asked about how they balance their entrepreneurial and real estate journey while raising their kids. The Multi-FAMILY zone was created to address these questions, along with a host of questions from the Jake and Gino community. In this lesson, Julia and Gino share their journey of teaching their children the often neglected skills of money, finance, and investing, which are omitted in today’s public schools. Jake & Gino created a Youth Academy to address the inequities of lack of financial education in the classrooms, and have included lessons for adults as well. What is included in the Youth Academy? For starters, what can parents do right now to begin the journey, what life skills can they teach their children, what are some powerful habits to create around money, what is money and how to take control of it, and so many more vital topics. The goal of the Academy is to present money and investing in an easy to understand format, where young adults have a framework to begin implementing the lessons in their daily lives to improve their financial situation. These lessons have been created by us, and they have led to our financial freedom and the ability to help others achieve the same level of success. 0:28.4	I'm good. Got an exciting show today because it's one of my favorite topics to talk about,
0:34.2	especially when it comes to youth and it comes to money and comes to people getting stuck about money.
0:38.4	What is money? How do I make money? And I was fortunate to have two great parents who taught me about money, but there was a lot of limiting beliefs around that. And
0:43.1	I learned early on, I was adopting their beliefs about money. And to compound that problem,
0:49.8	I wasn't getting taught in college, let alone high school, about money, about investing, about becoming an entrepreneur.
0:57.8	So I set out the beginning of this year to create with my wife, the Jake and Gino Youth Academy.
1:04.3	And it's been a labor of love.
1:06.9	And it's been a lot of work, but it's been so much fun because I've been able to do this with my
1:12.4	wife. I've had so many of the Jake and Gino team members on, whether it's Jennifer McGee,
1:17.1	who actually helped with it. We did a renting an apartment video. I have certain team members
1:22.9	who just shared about their experiences. Jake is obviously in the youth academy. I have one of our
1:29.2	coaches, Vince Gethings, who's doing a video lesson on buying a car. There's so much in this academy
1:35.9	that I'm really proud of. And we're launching the program Monday. It's going live to the public.
1:41.4	And what's great about it is it's not going to be just that. It's going to be
1:45.9	constantly growing because we're getting feedback from a lot of students. They want to learn these
