Hi, this is Debbie Boyles, coach at Mojo for Running with podcast number 71, the 2015 Mojo for Running Challenge.

0:09.9

Welcome to the podcast that is for all runners.

0:13.3

If you've been listening to this podcast for a while, or if you keep up with my Mojo for Running Facebook page,

0:18.8

you know that for a couple of years I've challenged my listeners

0:22.0

with a running challenge for that particular year. It all started by accident in 2013. Since the year was

0:29.1

2013, I thought it would be fun to challenge you to run 13 half marathons in 2013. At the time, I wasn't thinking of any more challenges in future years,

0:40.3

but late in 2013, people started asking me about the 2014 challenge. So, for this year,

0:48.0

I switched it up and challenged you to run 12, 5Ks in 2014. The idea being to switch from working on endurance to focusing on speed.

0:58.8

Many people have completed that challenge, and I congratulate you.

1:02.5

If you're one of those people, I'll be having stickers and magnets made soon,

1:07.0

and you'll be able to order one of each for just $6, which includes shipping.

1:12.4

Just keep an eye on the Mojo for Running Facebook page where I'll post when they're ready.

1:17.4

That brings us to this coming year, 2015.

1:21.4

The 2015 challenge will be to run six 5Ks and six half marathons. The idea being to maintain that edge you've gained

1:31.8

with the 12 5Ks you did in 2014, but to keep working on that speed that you've gained with the 5Ks

1:39.8

and now to see how it transfers into faster half marathon times.

1:45.1

5Ks are great speedwork for halves.

1:47.9

Now, here are the rules.

1:49.3

It must be an official race.

1:51.6

Whether it's the 5K, one of the 6 5Ks, or one of the 6 half marathons,

1:56.0

they have to be official races.

1:58.3

Training runs do not count.
