Welcome to episode 71. Today we're talking with Treg Sherman from Urban Timber. A Treg is part of a three-man team that launched Urban Timber as a local lumber supplier in Columbus, Ohio. And they saw an opportunity to salvage local lumber and serve their community at the same time. We'll talk with Treg about the struggles of starting and scaling a new business and the benefits of hiring

both experienced and inexperienced people. These guys started out with a small little shop and

in just three years urban timber has grown to a 10,000 square foot facility with five shop contributors.

They are based in woodworking, metalworking, social media, and the website, and it is

awesome to see them supplementing their growing business.

With a brand new online store and an Instagram following with over 43,000 people, urban

timber is on the rise, and they are just jumping on to the YouTube scene as well.

This interview is full of tactical insights and was a blast.
