The other enormously important election in North America this year is for the presidency of Mexico and I welcome

Mariana Stasia O'Grady, the America's editor and columnist for the Wall Street

editorial board, looking at the candidates but particularly so the nomination of the former mayor of Mexico City of Claudia Shinebaum. I understand that

so Chil Gauvez is an entrepreneur and a former senator. Mary a very good evening to

you this is a challenge to go up against

Marina with a coalition. What is it that you've learned from

sochil-Gavez that she would change about the status quo, which is a very alarming

status quo in Mexico today. Good evening to you. Well good evening, John.

Sotiable Galvez is a candidate offering an opposition platform to the ruling

Moreno party as you mentioned and that and that the godfather of that party is Andres Manuel Lopez-Obrador Amlo.

You know, since he put the party together and he's he'll be ending his term in the fall of this year. You know he's really

consolidated a lot of power for Moreno. I think there's 26

morena governors in the country now out of 32 states so the party is

something to be reckoned with and so chill Galvez is trying to be that

opposition candidate. So she was chosen by a

coalition of the three largest parties in Mexico which would be the old pre-institutional Revolutionary Party, the National Action Party,

the Pan, and the PRD, the Revolutionary Democratic Party, which is a left-wing party.

So those three parties got together, they said, we'll hold a primary, we'll choose

one candidate because that's the only way we can be Moreno and she's the candidate and you know because

the Mexican economy is doing reasonably well because of the liberal policies, the economically liberal policies that were put in place before
