Well, our life is a story.

Well, life is a story that we tell ourselves.

The story is based on what in eastern wisdom traditions is called karma, memory, and desire.

So karma is any experience you've had in the past and that of course creates a potential memory and then memory creates a potential

desire and through these three aspects which are aspects of our own consciousness, we write a life story.

And then we cling to those stories and that's when the problem begins.

Because if you cling to a story and anything that happens that is not in congruency with your story,

then you experience suffering.

This is called Karmic Bondage.

To be bound by karma is the same thing

as to be bound by a story.

It limits you.

So many times when people ask me, Deepak,

how do you define yourself?
